What We Do
Nutritious Meals
Our elderly members get food baskets once a week. Orran children, after school, are treated to homemade meals that include soup or salad, a nutritious main course, and dessert. Our dedicated cooks ensure every meal is balanced and delightful, making eating a joyous experience for our children.
Academic Excellence
After their meal, the children start on their homework with the assistance of professional teachers at each center. A group of capable national and international volunteers assists with both tutoring and homework supervision, ensuring that each child receives the individual attention that he or she requires to be well prepared for the next day at school.
Psychological Well-being
Our dedicated team of psychologists establishes meaningful connections with both children and their families, providing compassionate and personalized counseling, whether on an individual basis or within supportive group sessions. By doing so, we cultivate a nurturing atmosphere that fosters emotional well-being, ensuring every member of our Orran family feels heard, understood, and supported.
Comprehensive Social Services
Our dedicated social workers actively engage with children, both at the Centers and in their schools and homes. They identify and resolve problems affecting behavior, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for growth. We distribute donated clothing and shoes to our children, their families, and our elderly members, fostering a sense of community and care.
Empowering Skills Through Workshops
At Orran, we are deeply committed to our mission of nurturing the individual passions and talents of each child under our care. Our dedicated efforts focus on guiding these young minds toward promising and fulfilling careers in the future. Through workshops like sewing, singing, pottery, painting, and wood-carving, our children not only acquire valuable skills but also cultivate a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. These courses are meticulously crafted to serve as a foundation upon which we build confidence, empowering our children to pursue their dreams. Moreover, by providing engaging hobbies and creative outlets, we not only keep our children away from the streets but also instill in them a sense of purpose.
Cultural Enrichment
We understand the importance of spiritual and cultural growth. Orran organizes enriching field trips to museums, historical sites, theaters, and amusement parks, broadening the horizons of our children and elderly members. These outings are not just educational but also deeply inspiring, fostering a love for art, history, and the world around them. For the most part, these outings are sponsored through donations, from supporters like yourself. We also partnered with Henrik Igityan National Centre for Aesthetics and some of our students take dancing and musical instrument classes there.
Apprenticeship program
We extend our reach to distant rural and borderline communities of Armenia, where we teach young, vulnerable individuals in different crafts and professions and give them financial and personal development mentorship so they can secure a job and stay and work in their communities. With the invaluable support of our partners and individual donors, Orran has successfully trained and empowered over 300 young people. Among them are individuals who have faced the challenges of disability because of the war, those who have relocated from Artsakh, and family members of war victims. Our commitment is to provide them with the tools they need to not just survive, but to thrive, fostering a sense of belonging, purpose, and hope within their communities.
Crisis response
In the face of a crisis, like the 2020 war, we extended our embrace to Artsakh refugee families. With love and determination, we’ve improved the lives of over 3,000 refugee children and families. We continue helping Artsakh families and children by providing them with warm clothing, food baskets, school supplies, and hygienic products. We also provide psychological services to Artsakh children. Orran stands as a beacon of hope and support, bringing warmth, sustenance, and comfort to those who have faced unimaginable challenges, embodying the spirit of resilience and care in times of crisis.
