We ended the year on a high note with a delightful event celebrating the New Year.
Our students put together a cheerful performance, which was attended by both current and former students of Orran. We had a special guest, the former Italian ambassador to Armenia, Giovanni Ricciulli, who accompanied our students’ performance of a beautiful Italian Christmas song with a guitar. This holiday season many of our partner organizations, new partners, and individuals made the holiday season unforgettable for Orran students. We are grateful to have you by our side.
A breakdown of the holiday season:
- For the children of Orran, a sweet little gingerbread cookie represents a beautiful tradition at the Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan. The holiday magic starts with the decoration of gingerbread cookies and a grand celebration. This year, 30 old and new students of Orran, including our students from Artsakh, spent an unforgettable day at Marriott.
2. Avetik Isahakyan’s House Museum hosted 25 students of Orran’s senior group on the initiative of director Armenuhi Avetisyan. The partnership between the museum and the “Orran” NGO has been going on warmly for ten years. During this time, different generations of the organization have visited the museum and participated in educational programs, events, and tours. The day was filled with surprises and a festive mood. The children were welcomed by the Master’s grandson, Avik Isahakyan, a literary scholar, doctor of philological sciences, professor, and honored artist of RA art. Meeting and getting to know him made the New Year holiday even more memorable. The children had an interesting tour of the memorial section of the museum with Avik Isahakyan. Then, together, they read and discussed Isahakyan’s fairy tale “The Happy Hut”.
3. For the second year in a row, Arsen Tchaghlassian has brought joy to the children at Orran. This year, they were visited by the Adventure Bus company’s elves who put on a delightful performance. They sang and danced with the children and at the end, Santa Claus arrived to give them DIY Christmas cookies.
4. “The world needs more Santas.” This is the title of the annual initiative called “Coca-Cola New Year Caravan”, launched by Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia. This year, the Caravan started at the H. Tumanyan Puppet Theater. The children enjoyed watching the New Year performance called “Santa’s Gifts”, played interactive games with Santa Claus, and received gifts.
