Koti Village Children Receive Sleeping Bags!
Koti is a border village, located 180Km from Yerevan. Although the distance doesn’t seem far, it takes about 4.5hours by car. This village of 2500 residents are struggling to continue living in their homes due to hostilities. The village has a 38Km border with Azerbaijan, which means that they are occasionally under fire from the military posts across the open borders. Most homes have makeshift windows of plastic sheeting, making the winters very cold inside the homes. The villagers also have to sleep in basements when the village is under threat.
Orran gave out 132 sleeping bags to all the children of the village from kindergarten up to grade 4. The mayor of Koti said that the sleeping bags are essential for the children, who will now be warm thanks to Orran.
