We had our 3rd monthly food assistance days for the children and their families and our elderly beneficiaries.
Both children and elderly expressed their gratitude for the food assistance, thanks to our donors. Life for our Orran family members has become more difficult, with many unable to receive the nutrition that they need, especially in these times of Covid-19.
“It’s heartbreaking to see the decline of living conditions of the Orran families. Most who held minimum paying jobs, with which they were barely able to sustain their families, have since lost their only income. Orran’s assistance with food supplies, academic and psychological support has given them hope in these difficult times of the pandemic.
In the last 3 months volunteering on the food assistance days, I have seen how the elderly have withered away. Most who can make their way to Orran on food assistance days to receive their supply of butter, milk, cheese, cold cuts, biscuits and more, come with the yearning of the center re-opening to give them their daily hot meals. The ones that are too weak or ill have their supplies delivered by Orran. ” – Volunteer
